Submission to the Turkish Grand National Assembly: Rule of Law and Human Rights Concerns
On 17 September 2025, SRL Swiss submitted a formal communication to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission. The submission emphasized that lasting peace and democratic stability must be based on the rule of law, fair-trial guarantees, the presumption of innocence, proportionality, and compliance with the European Convention on Human Rights.
The letter also drew attention to individuals affected by emergency decree laws (KHK), including those dismissed from public service, subjected to prolonged detention, or forced into exile. SRL Swiss called for the review of administrative and judicial measures adopted during the state of emergency, the restoration of professional and social rights, the release of arbitrarily detained persons, the implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court, and stronger guarantees for judicial independence.
