Submission to Amnesty International Headquarters – Yalçınkaya Judgment
On 1 December 2023, SRL Swiss submitted a communication to the Secretary General of Amnesty International concerning the human rights situation in Türkiye and Amnesty International’s forthcoming 2023/24 annual report. The submission highlighted the significance of the European Court of Human Rights’ Grand Chamber judgment in Yüksel Yalçınkaya v. Türkiye, including the Court’s findings under Articles 6, 7 and 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights. SRL called on Amnesty International to take the judgment and its broader implications into account in its monitoring and reporting on Türkiye and invited further dialogue and cooperation on documented human rights concerns.
